if you had a decent bet selection, would you ever attempt to use parlay martingale? a 14 step is a risk of 119 units. can a bet selection be that bad that you cant win within that parameter?

Maybe I’m calling it incorrectly. It’s a parlay but you progressively increase your bets till you get a parlay win than repeat the steps all over. It can’t just be called parlay cuz that’s just one step of a double bet. That’s why I attached martingale name to parlay.

What are the 14 steps that add up to 119 units?

All bet selections are understood to be the same. Any and every bet selection returns the same non predictable random string of wins and losses. This stands to be true until someone produces the results of a comprehensive comparison of several bet selections and can clearly point out where one or more bet selections produce a recognizably different string of wins and losses than what random has to offer.

If a bet selection that fits that criteria is discovered, it will be the holy grail everyone has been searching for. It will have a non random predictable characteristic that can be retro fitted with a money management scheme that will never bust.

Soxfan managed to create one with a non mechanical subjective element that cant be programmed or duplicated. He used it successfully for 12 years with his 13 step parlay progression. An improvement from his original 11 step parlay progression. Your 14 step parlay martingale can only be slightly different than 111 223 457 9,12,16 21,28. This matches your 14 steps but only risks 112 units.

Yes, all bet selections can be so bad as to not win within that parameter. Soxfan himself has busted a 13 step twice in one shoe. I've run dozens upon dozens of bet selections through a parlay progression and have hit back to back failures greater than 14 far too often to remain net positive. The worst I came across testing was 35 consecutive failed attempts before securing a back to back win.

I don't understand how you can get clipped so often. For me the progression busts are just the cost of doing business, nothing more. And I can't ever imagine not capturing a coup of backs to backs win in 35 attempt! I post a weeks worth of my actual play on the bets selection forum a while back and fairly typical but you do need a thousand units bankroll to back yer play, hey hey.

I don't understand how you can NOT get clipped so often. :) Of course my testing was done purely mechanical, no changing my selection on the fly, no subjective element. I considered a bust to be a necessary part of it, modified my progression to return maximum profit where the majority of my coups landed. Still ran into too many dry patches. The 35 was quite the shocker to me as well. It was not two long losing streaks, rather a long series of single wins surrounded by short losing streaks, that eventually add up to 35 failed attempts. Only one bet selection produced this. The others simply went deeper than 13 too often to be profitable.
After that, I decided I would need a different approach.

This quote is from one of my favorite gambling book, enjoy, hey hey.

"I am told that a recently published book recounts the story of a man who is supposed to have earned a good living for 30 year doing nothing but grinding out small hourly winning with the following parlay series:
    111 22 44 88 (total risk 31) "

Yeah, sure maybe somebody did. But I have significant doubts. I ran 9 step parlay progs too. 111 22 44 88 is sloppy and wasteful. It may have been that simple for that guy, but it isn't as simple as that for the rest of us, or the casinos would have been shut down by now. I can't reproduce your success with the 13 step, and neither can anybody else. I'm not doubting your success personally. But if it was that easy for the rest of us, we'd all be doing it. I'm sure I'm not the only one that ran extensive testing on it, and came up short.

. 35 ??! Shocker, i'll say. Never seen it or came close. But I don't think there is a successful selection without subjective element (guessing, MM, whatever). However different selections going to perform differently in the short run. This can be seen when looking at the different nemesis patterns in different selections. So all selections not the same.
