Blackjack Playing multiple hands - Question for Don

Discussion in 'Blackjack Forum' started by MJ1, May 3, 2019.

Okay, suppose you are playing with another player at the table. The count warrants a bet of $100 for one hand. Is it better to play 2 hands of $50 (decreases variance while keeping EV the same) or should you spread to two hands of $75 (variance remains same but EV increases by 50%). If SCORE is hourly earnings then I'm guessing the latter scenario produces the higher SCORE. But which scenario will generate a higher CE?

    Thanks,
    MJ

You askin’ Don?? You mean Don Schlesinger (aka Kaufchewk) of the The Asylum (BJTF) “fame”???

Don hasn’t played blackjack in at least a quarter of a century! That is, playing in a real casino. He and his NY buddy Norman Wattenberger (aka Shkiottorban) haven’t even entered a real casino in over one decade, 15 years, and months, weeks, and days counting…

They’ve never seen a shuffling machine. Hey, they don’t even know what doubling down means!

As of single hand vs. multiple hands.
Playing multiple hands is the aggravation the card counters bring upon themselves. Not to mention that the blackjack tables are overwhelmingly full… and would-be players are waiting behind you!

Card counting is supposed to be a winning proposition for heads-up play. The more players at the table, the worse it gets for any individual player. The count is high, the player expects a high hand and wishfully-thinking a dealer bust.

For multiple players, the “benefit” gets diminished as it is divided amongst more than one player. And by adding yourself more hands you… add insult to your injury! Take this to the bank: Play more hands, lose more money.

Observant players notice (and some of them cry out loud) that there is virtually no round when ALL players at the table win. There are busts before the dealer plays her hand.

I ain’t a hypocrite like Norm. I was a “traditional counter” and I still count cards. My fundamental problem with the “traditional card-counting” is this:
    • The card-counter automatically raises his bet when the count is high (positive). The unfavorable situations, however, outnumber the positive cases. Therefore the counter loses more money than the basic strategy player. And that’s why there is virtually no round when ALL players at the table win. Losing is not bad variance — it is the norm… the real norm (not NORMan Bates0!
The count I apply is primarily for the blackjack insurance. Certain situations (Tens out in the round clearly below the norm… real norm)… favor also doubling down. I am not allowed to post links here. We all agree that links improve informative quality by an order of magnitude. You might want to google on blackjack insurance saliu. You’ll learn there this blackjack super count, plus a truckload of useful information (bj odds, double-down hands, total and favorable pairs, etc.)

The Lizard of Odds saw my analyses a few years later. So, in January 2019, he hurriedly wrote an article about insurance and the one-third rule I base my bj super count on.

Let interested gamblers know who the real scammers and crooks are. Those who never gambled seriously, but have always encouraged gamblers via books, software, systems to spend their money. Norman Wattenberger and Don Schlesinger are two of the most notorious. Keep reading a thread that puts together the most relevant threads:

If you can’t figure it out, you must put that pipe away.

Ion Saliu’s Blackjack Challenge Was Issued to any Gambling Author, System Developer.

In your case, however, it is best to stick to your current status. You ain’t cured in your gambling trauma. I know you lost massively following blindly the card-counting religion. You ain’t recovered financially. You better stick to that six-pack for the foreseeable future.

Card-counting can be successful, however. Alas! It applies to infrequent blackjack cases, especially taking insurance or doubling-down. The successful bets are founded on an undeniable mathematical formula.

Blackjack Insurance Bet Favorable to All Players at the Table.

The resource has become one of the most popular destinations to my website. I heard some casinos started to pay insurance 1 to 1. Who would be that insane and accept such a payout?

The mathematical success is due to the fact that it applies to one and only card. It is the dealer’s hole card; or one player’s card when doubling down. On the other hand, traditional card-counting depends on several cards. Furthermore, card-counting was developed only for heads-up scenarios.

In cases of multiple players (the overwhelming norm), the “benefits” of “positive” counts are dispersed among several players. That’s why the losing situations are prevalent for any particular player. The counter is hurt more because the cuckoo increases his bet in all positive counts. And that’s why them “bishops, saints, gurus” of the card-counting cult hate me in such vitriolic manner. And the casinos are always behind them crooks…

Don't smoke. Don't take drugs. Don't drink, other than an occasional beer.

No gambling trauma here. At least that I case see. Blackjack is easy. Life is difficult. Numbers don't lie. People do.

No massive losses here. At least in what the world calls gambling. But took some good shots in the world though. It's not how many times you get knocked down. It's about getting back up. Hardly, would I be considered a follower of these card counting cults.
A formula can be applied to everything in blackjack. IT's a matter of what is played and what still remains to be played. Then, prioritize according to frequency. Exact. No guessing. No estimating. Memory retention is vital. But quite simple...once you learn the formula's. The wins vs losses don't come from high vs low cards. For instance, quite often, the deck is rich in middle cards which make TC appears to be strong. However, deck composition is weak. Thus, these guys are not making 6 figures a year - every year - without that information. Although they, and perhaps the casinos, would like for us to believe them.

    "Not I," said the frog.

Well said. The next card either goes to my hand or the dealers. That is totally in my control. I have no control over the hole card. However, a key point, is in heads up play, the next card could start my next hand as opposed to breaking my current hand.

If I had your kind of money. I'd burn mine. But no way am I sitting at a table with multiple players...even with your money.:D But I applaud those who do. Heck, I will even pull out the chair for them. Somebodies got to pay the casino. Better them than me.

Psychodon is learning, including from my posts here, at GamblingForums! Despite his statements in another forum that he “ignores me”!

The fewer the better. More hands per hour. Many will tell you alone is best, but I prefer at least one other player so that I can sit out hands when the count gets bad. You can't do that if you're by yourself.”

Not long ago, he would jump at your throat even for raising the question of the influence of the number of players over card-counting!

But he still can’t control his pathological lying. He keeps spewing the lie that he plays blackjack in a real casino. He ain’t been in one in decades and decades…

Indeed, card-counting, as well as the blackjack basic strategy, have been devised with one and only one player in mind. If you look at the basic strategy, it varies wildly during the game. There are borderline situations when one way and the other are separated by slim percentages.

In card-counting, the number of players makes it more difficult for a favorable situation to benefit exactly you, da counter. It is about the probability as exactly one success in a trial — or at least multiple successes in multiple trials.

If the high cards are distributed randomly, the chance they will fall in the same hand is diminished by the number of players at the table. Lest we forget, the dealer has also an equal chance of getting a high hand!

So, if the counter expects a high hand every time the count is high, he is dead-wrong! As in losing the shirt off his back, as it probably happened to the likes of Psychodon…

What I presented is undeniable mathemtics, sickos drowned in gambling hallucinations! It ain’t the mumbo-jumbo spread like daily manure by the likes of Gizmotron Cabron…

This is your only accurate statement in these forums:

“I've blown enough brain cells on this.”

Yes, you have did, indeed, Gizmotron Cabron! Now, just take your meds (but other than opioids!) and lie down in bed. Enjoy your nightmares!

Viciousness and crookery deserve attention — always in the form of warning. Unsuspecting humans deserve to know and stay safe from such viruses.

“The Norman “Bates” Wattenbergers and Don “Raging Bull” Schlesingers of the world are krooks, and mooks, and bazooks. They strongly promote blackjack as a professional game, but they have never practiced it professionally. They lost big early in the game, and they ran away from casinos. Yet, they discovered the card-counting scheme in blackjack would greatly favor the casinos financially. Therefore they invested big-time in casino stocks… but they admitted it only after they were exposed. And they still sell books and cook-the-book software worshipping card-cunting!” 3:14

To that end, we must keep atop this elemental thread: “Current Feud with Qfit (Norman Wattenberger)”:
