Some woman told me the day the last day the Casino was open that she thinks when the Casino reopens they will tighten the hell out of the machines in order to "Get back," the lost revenue. from being closed temporarily. "They're going to want their money back they lost due to being closed very quickly!" Was her reasoning.

I think it will be the OPPOSITE. They will LOOSEN the slots to romance and entice the Gamblers after a long time of no play. Think about it. Casino Staff would piss off their Gamblers if the Gamblers waited say from March 18-April 18 to be able to play again and continously lost their money due to purposely tight machines. Congratulations, you as the Casino Staff pissed off Gamblers who waited an ENTIRE month just to lose their money big time on tight slots! That's when your Gamblers would boycott lamd based Casinos and go play Online or play Lottery. You lose money due to the Boycotts.

Now if you give LOOSE machines, the Gamblers will play more because they are winning MORE and are HAPPY. They tend to play more because they feel "Rich,". If they jyst lose lose lose, you get paid once and then no more. But if they win more you get paid lots of times since they feel they are now rich. Case in point. Some guy won $500,000 on a $5 Megabucks Machine or something like that. He ended up having a big blast with it in the Casino and ended up losing EVERY dollar of that $500,000 in the same Casino. IIRC he admitted he played recklessly after he got the $500,000 win since he felt he had beaten The Casino.

If he had consistently LOST his bankroll money he would have quickly boycotted The Casino in theory. But because he won big, he put that won money back into the Casino. Another guy admitted he won $20,000 on a Friday on a loose machine on a $5 bet and on Saturday he went back to the Casino and gave back $19,000 of it because he felt he had "Beaten the Casino,"

See? Letting Gamblers win big by loosening up machines will in turn get them to play recklessly, feel like they "Beat the Casino," and end up guving all or most back. So I feel that the Casinos will LOOSEN up the machines in order to get Gamblers to win more, get happy and reckless and give back all or most because they feel like they "Beat the Casino.

As Casino Staff, would ou rather get paid big time once or get paid lityle by little lots of times? wink.png (Getting paid little by little lots of times is the choice I personally would go with) wink.png

Agree, I believe that they’ll be discounting everything, waiving idiotic parking and resort fees, offering cheap rooms, etc. Even loose slots and other perks.

    For a New York minute.

And then just when their analytics tell them the time is right, they’ll rocket ride everything back to levels that are even higher than they were pre-virus. And tighten up the games accordingly.

Quadruple zero roulette baby, coming to a casino near you in 2021. :D

    Mako,

No significant changes either way .Any discounts on parking, rooms, etc will be played inside the casino benefitting the HE and increasing the drop.

Therefore the discounts are a mirage .

This is not a problem for Turbo's HolyGrail, instead of having a 1/24 hit rate on the leading number, it will raise only to 1/26 :D

Will the sports arenas, ball parks , race tracks. movie houses, other entertainment facilities lower their fees ?

Heck NO. Only a person of low intellect would think so .

casinos are part of the entertainment industry for recreational purposes .

Only feeble minds think differently .The winning side must be the casino to continue the chosen recreational activity .

Before this happened gambling and casinos were on a big rise. I don't they will raise or lower edges as either move could backfire. Lower edges will unnecessarily hurt the bottom line, but higher edges could alienate players.

Me thinks they'll be wanting to make up for lost revenue, how they go about achieving that remains to be seen, i.e more free accommodation, lower rates, to get more people into the casino's, special promo's, anything to increase numbers. As for changing gaming rules, nope.

The casinos will make up the lost revenue faster than expected . The suckers are in a hurry to get shorn like sheep.

Yes, two schools of thought really, the first being that all that pent up boredom will pour out the door the second it seems safe to, and fill the casino's coffers at a decent pace, along with other entertainment opportunities (amusement parks, cruises, etc). Kind of a "we beat it" celebration of returning to normalcy by those happy to be alive and ok.

The other thought is that with millions having been laid off, and a decent chunk of those jobs being phased out or eliminated permanently despite Covid-19 retreating in Q3/Q4, that there just won't be enough money in middle class family's hands to get the consumption engine to turn over and kick on to sustain itself. Fear basically, reflected at that time by something like the consumer confidence gauge falling, or another indicator at that time showing that consumers are keeping their wallets close at hand despite the danger being mitigated.

And the election looms over it all too, which could be good or bad in terms of consumer confidence either way (re-election to a second term or a new President). Both scenarios have possible good/bad outcomes both ways for the larger market and consumption as well, impossible to tell what both Wall St. and Main St. wants to happen.

What a pain in the ass this all is, will be glad to just get back to daily Baccarat and golf and a nightcap, and not have to think at all.

This is my favorite temperature-taker for how the sheep (masses) are feeling. If you know how they're feeling, it can give you a window towards doing the opposite (sell when they buy, buy when they sell, etc).

It's simplistic, and doesn't entertain a whole host of other extremely important factors, but it can give you the present train of thought in how middle class households are feeling:

    https://www.conference-board.org/data/consumerconfidence.cfm

When that thing is flying high, it usually means doom is coming, even if you can't see what that doom actually is (in this case, Covid-19, last time, mortgage backed securities default).

One could think that but as an example here in Sydney every Chinese New Year the casino increases All table game min limits because they know that it’s a peak season for Asian to gamble.
I know many Asian here they complain among themselves about it. But continue to gamble, I tell them vote with your money and stay away as they are getting ripped off , they don’t and of course lose heaps.
So in saying the above. No casinos will not offer better conditions for players because the players want to play regardless.
My host here told me they had to physically drag some players out in order to shutdown = carte Blanc on re open.
Pre virus closure casino would shutdown AND remove a slot machine when a jackpot got to high , they wouldn’t transfer the jackpot to near by machine so anyone chasing that had lost the amount they had invested.
So no . No incentive from casino in my opinion as people are arriving daily to see if they can get in. You may get some token gesture via email but token is the operative word from the email I and friends are getting at the moment.
Well for all you state side you all seem to get a better deal than we do here in island state Australia good luck. Thanks
