Misc WizardOfVegas Forum is Dying

Okay, so Wizard says that he uses the Suspension List to, "Shame," people and has yet to recant that statement. What do you expect me to do with that? Are either of those things not facts? He said it, yes, fact. He has not yet recanted it, to my knowledge, he has not, fact.

I don't know anything about the double chance of reading insults. I have told you what I use the Suspension List for, and it is not to draw more eyes to the insults, other than people should have the opportunity to comment if they think the Suspension is wrongful. I mainly use it so I know when to unban people and how long and how recent the most recent ban(s) was(were).

I don't use it for that, and I don't know if he feels that way anymore. Both facts. I will admit that if he doesn't feel that way, I cannot recall an instance where he has spoken to the contrary.

I do what I can not to live a trite and humorless existence such as yours, which is to say that, "You are the weakest link," is a joke. However, I do see where it can be construed as, "Insult after injury," so I will stop using it when someone is Nuked.

I do not try to shame someone by Suspending them, Suspensions are an attempt to tell people that the posts that they are making are, in some way, not acceptable because they are not in accordance with the Rules. The point of a Suspension is to try to ensure that the offending behavior is not repeated.

People that bitch about jokes like that are why, IRL, I do not refer to myself as a, "Liberal," even though I am socially/economically left of most people who do refer to themselves as Liberals. It's a harmless joke, and if there is a blonde woman out there who can look me in the eye and tell me that such a joke offends her, then I would suggest she get a fucking life. People can make jokes in direct reference to me, "Husband of the year," and that's how I take it, as a joke. There's a joke about me being born in WV on the Forum right now, that doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The world is simply too full of pretentiously aggrieved people who intentionally attempt to find fault in even the most innocuous statements/jokes, people such as yourself. Fuck, it wouldn't shock me to see you conclude from my employment of that joke that I actually hate women, at least, blonde ones.

I will say about Face that he is an excellent Philosopher and person. I will also say that many people, including the both of us, should aspire to comport ourselves with the level of dignity, decorum and compassion for others that Face does. Face is a tremendous example of how people should be to one another and is much more consistent than I in insuring that his behavior and Philosophies are in sync. I would not hesitate, even for a second, in saying Face is a person I look up to.

 

That's not a bogus offense, she was Trolling. If you're going to post information about an alleged promotion, then you should have the correct details as to how the Promotion works. I'm not going to have actual facts about the primary topic of discussion of the board, which is gambling, be misrepresented by an individual whose other posts can occasionally be considered to be Trolling. There is every reason to believe that Nathan should have been aware of the ACTUAL terms of the promotion and spoke of them accordingly.

I closed the thread because it is an unnecessary thread that has nothing to do with gambling. I'm not going to have the Forum flooded with non-gambling threads when the one-paragraph subject matter of the thread in question can simply be posted in the Miscellaneous Discussion Thread, or alternatively, the, "How Cold Is It," thread.

If I wanted to do something for spite, I'd Nuke Nathan or toss out a two week ban. God knows I could justify it. Also, if my interest were in making the most popular decision, and not in fairness, Nathan would already be gone.

If the wrong person told a polish joke, or an AP joke or a fat joke.......it would be serious enough to suspend.

The finger on the suspend button is just waiting for the right person to fuck if they potentially offend the wrong person.

Had I told a dumb pollack joke when I was there....I would be suspended no doubt. Considering that no one can clearly say why I was nuked. A clear joke about polish people would be easy ammunition and reason for punishment for me.

So its not the dumb blonde joke per se.....its the hypocrisy that the incident portrays.

 

Oh yeah, mods take critiques about their actions really well. In fact isnt it frowned upon for someone to come back from suspension and argue their point. I have seen people scolded and threatened with another suspension or nuking if they wanted to continue.
It may not be a rule..but its an unwritten rule.
But once someone is told that they are the weakest link...they cant talk about it till they come back. And who else is most qualified t talk about it other than the jailed person.

And if you dont intend for more eyes to be drawn to the insult.......it doesnt change the reality that it does draw more eyes...no matter what your intent is. Again..tunnel vision.

In any business, offending a customer is never acceptable ......and knowing that your actions could offend a customer....even though your primary intention is different......does not make the offensive part of your action any less offensive. Especially if you repeatedly do it.....month after month, year after year.. And you may not use a vehicle called the wall of shame.....to try to shame people.....but you still use the vehicle labeled as such.

 

No, that's bullshit. I will say that I would never Suspend anyone for such a joke and if anyone would ever be Suspended for the telling of such a joke, in an appropriate thread, then I would argue against that Suspension vehemently. It might be in PM, don't misunderstand, but I would argue against it vehemently one way or the other.

So, if you're going to continue throwing that joke up in my face, I DEMAND that you demonstrate any occurrence of my Suspending anyone for any similar joke to that. Especially if said Suspension is for that and that alone.

I would absolutely not have Suspended you for telling a pollack joke, I cannot speak for anyone else. I'm trying to converse with you, here, but I simply cannot answer for other people on their behalf.

With respect to why you were Nuked, I assume that I can figure it out, but it would require me to read countless posts relating to you at the time at which it happened when I was extremely busy with real life affairs and only barely participating on the Forum. You know this. There is a record of this.

Now, since I have always maintained that I liked you as a poster, and I did, I will give you this one opportunity: Would you like me to request your reinstatement, which may be conditional?

 

nope, I cam back after a 30 day suspension trumped up by manboy for critiquing his tin cup waving.

I posted 3 times on the discussion of the suspension list in an exchange with someone(not 3 consecutive posts jamming a message down your throat without being engaged by someone else)

and thats what got me nuked.

I don't know anything about the second part of your statement. I can answer for how I, personally, would handle that, but you wouldn't like it because I am not answering for every Admin on WoV.

I have maintained some 1,485,726,415 times that I don't mind being challenged. I encourage it. I want to become a better and more fair Administrator of the Forum. I want gambling related posts and activity, that stuff is good for the Forum.

I have specifically said that NOBODY EVER should be Suspended for an insult against me personally and that I will answer to it, I have said I cannot stop someone from Suspending for that, but that I will never do it and (to my knowledge) it has never been done. What do you want from me?

I'm not going to say that anymore for Nuked people. Saying it in the past was a mistake because it could be construed as insult upon injury. It was an immature and unprofessional attempt to be humorous. What else do you want?

Unintended consequence, the main thing is that I want people to be aware of the Suspension and why I did it so they can challenge me if they see fit. I want to be challenged by those who may disagree with me. I will answer all-comers as to why I did something.

I have used the Suspension List and have stated my reasons for doing same, and I will continue doing it for those reasons. Jesus Christ, if I can barely remember to reinstate someone on the list, imagine what I would do without it!!!

Human beings, fundamentally, are imperfect beings, so I can only carry with me the assumption that most things I do will be imperfect. The only thing I can do is strive to become better.

The point is, "Yes," other Administrators do not always handle things the way I handle things. And, if you put the question directly to me, "Would you have done x y way," I will answer that question for you. Would I use the Suspension List to shame people, or to double-insult, for instance...No, because I have stated what I use it for. But, that doesn't mean I don't do things that someone else wouldn't have done better.

 

Nathan now claims to be a woman named Karen. He/she was supposed to meet Wizardofnothing at a Florida casino but WON was looking for a guy. Don't even get me started on WON.

I posted alot as you can see, maybe 15 posts on dice setting and other gambling related topics.

I got suspended for I guess the top 3 posts that was over 2 days...not trolling by volume. Just an exchange with someone who engaged me.

so 3 posts on discussion of suspensioin list.

I was evidently on the wrong side of an issue, Someone felt threatened.

But then KJ was on the wrong side of an issue at first. If he posted what QFIT and Wiz wanted him to post, they would have layed off
