Just a week ago, a cogent explanation on how over the long term wov content has deteriorated. A long term bleeding of the knowledgeable posters.
And now something "odd" has occurred in a single week. It has turned around in just 7 days,

Some would say that a week is not a significant sample size to note anything of significance. But if one was struggling to find something of positive note, I guess a single week is quite enough.

The steady decline of knowledgeable posters over weeks, months, and years......has been addressed and revered?......yes the word is "odd" since there is no evidence that the behavior that has caused the exodus has changed. If anything the behavior is as toxic as ever.

So with the mods not changing, and with the members with the newly found power to censor via a flag, .....the board is turning around and starting to thrive....odd

 

Might be a fluke.

Kind of like finding a warm current while swimming in otherwise cool water.

Yes, many old "quality" posters are gone, and yes, many of the new guys don't seem to be of the same caliber, at least in terms of gambling knowledge and the ability to write about it.

Some of the recent posts just seemed "better," more focused, more interesting, for whatever reason.

Less trivial bullshit, more meat on the bone.

Just my impression: your mileage may vary.

 

From my perspective, If I see a long term deterioration and can identify the causes, .....and the root causes do not change......then a 7 day happy period for me would not make me feel it be of any significance to mention.

the root cause of the exodus is still present and even more virulent.

Now if there were changes for the better, like a changing of the guard for mods, or the release of manboy from his customer service duties....then the subsequent betterment of posts would bear comment. There would be a cause and effect.

But if we agree that people just dont leave for no good reason. and we do view a significant decrease in daily member sign ons. and we attribute this to the poor customer service climate, to oppressive uneven punishment,......and none of the attributing factors change. then a weeks worth of data is insignificant

Now she can get back to the important things like "flooding".

The first place for her to look should be her Depends. They've been known to overflow when she gets excited.

 

the definition of "flooding" and "trolling" and "insulting" is rather vague. It seems to change based on the side of the issue you are on.

If you are on the right side of an issue, there is no such violations

 

New rule at WoV: "Flagging legitimate posts, for any reason, is not allowed."

Define "legitimate."

Seems very subjective; like "beauty," isn't whether a post is "legitimate" a personal opinion, based on the eye of the beholder?

Seems to be an ill-conceived, ad hoc rule that will only lead to further confusion, suspension, resentment and exodus.

 

in the end the mods decide what is legitimate, who is a troll, who is a flooder, and who is an improper "flagger" and what insults are acceptable.
they seemingly will also punish private non payment of a bet, and truce breaking and any other "violation" that isnt listed but is deemed actionable.

And there lies the rub. The mods have no skin in the game. They dont have any reason to treat wov like a business and treat members as custmers with a goal of growing the business. And the manboy gets a salary that he doesnt need. so he can take it or leave it.

If you had people with skin in the game as gatekeepers of customer service, their overseeing and interpretation of the "rules" would be very different

 

As the old saying goes...you just can't make this stuff up.

Michael Bluejay went crying to manboy saying that Butt kisser Boz insulted him. Manboy the DICKtator agrees and suspends the loser for 3 days. No loss there.

Then the DICKtator says that even though it's the FIFTH offense for butt kisser Boz and even though his last suspension was for 14 days, he's only going to make this one 3 days. It seems that manboy feels that Boz has kissed sufficient butt since his last 14 day suspension.

Bluejay must be sorry he brought it up after that backstabbing by.... let's just call him "the dick". Didn't Bluejay just get 7 days for a relatively minor first offense? Oh yeah...Kentry no offense - nuked. bb1... no offense - nuked.

Here's some transparency for you. Manboy is still smarting after it was revealed that Bluejay, not him, was the brains behind WOV and responsible for it's success. While manboy was busy chasing hookers and posing with *cough* models, Bluejay was bringing in the bucks.

 

Bluejay gave the site financial stability near the beginning to last through the years so that i could eventually be sold for 2 mil,

If not for him, the tin cup would have come out years and years ago, and the manboy would see that he couldnt make it go just from charity.

there would be no eventual 2 mil.

yet he is treated like crap and he allows himself to be treated like crap.

he desperately needs to belong it seems

Axel is showing just how much contempt he has for the rest of the gambling public. If I ever get a chance I'm gonna horse whip the asshole.

 

Little Axel is just another WOVer who thinks the world revolves around him. He tells everyone what to post and what not to post. He told "all others" to heed his advice.

The sense of entitlement demonstrated by people of his ilk is incredible. Whenever someone posts a beneficial play, this guy throws a tantrum, flags their post and calls for their suspension. More often than not he gets his own way. He's one of the boys....goes to the meet ups and sniffs the unicycle seat.

A real AP would just move on and find another opportunity...not cry to the mods. That's what separates the men from the boys.

Little Axel wants to skip the school of hard knocks and immediately reap the benefits like the real APs who put in the time. It doesn't work that way. That's why he has his *cough* team selling water on the overpasses....running from the cops who shoo them along.

He's not on the board to help others or to exchange ideas. He's there to brag and he's not the only one.

there were only 185 visitors there
that place is dying by the day!

I'm not privy to how Zuga came to put a value on his purchase, but I'd be willing to bet that he assigned very little value to the WoV board.

He wanted WoO: WoV was just an appendix.

I suspect if it died and went away he wouldn't much care.

There is little discussion at WoV of online play, and that seems to be where Zuga's financial interests are based.

 

Zuga's lack of participation, his lack of hands on, says it all. The board is indeed an appendix. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

An emergency appendectomy should put it out of it's misery. Zuga to the OR......stat.
