Misc WizardOfVegas Forum is Dying

What's interesting is that Nathan, posting as Tasha on VCT, is saying that she is no longer bothered by insults. She even started a thread over there to convey as much. She titled it "No longer bothered by Boz's insults of me." Four posts later...still claiming not to be bothered.

So I ask...if all the real insults, and there have been some doozies, don't bother her...then why do the harmless jibes at WoV cause her concern? And by concern, I mean asking Daddy Wizard to suspend people then throwing it in everyone's face by thanking the weak one...complete with smiley face.

Weak Wizard uses people for his amusement...eating challenges, waitress trivia, mods working for free. I believe he also insulted or otherwise tried to demean a member's wife at a meet up. I think it was something about trivia involving Boz's wife but the man of integrity deleted all the posts discussing it...just like he deletes anything that he thinks makes him look bad.

The bottom line is that when he tires of you...you will be thrown out like yesterday's trash. Enjoy while it lasts, Karen Nathan. I won't say I told you so. Promise. Maybe.

In the meantime...maybe let him smell your hair.

As for Tasha the tard has some warped sense of belief that people on forums are her friends and enemies. And she thinks the perv is now her friend and will do her bidding against those who laugh at her. My desire to participate at WoV is fading fast now that the Wiz uses Nathan as a "lightning rod" to lure long-standing members into his woodshed for a kick in the nuts: the Old Boy seems happiest when smashing the Suspension Button.

Guys, let me frame this for you. Michael Shackleford is an adjunct professor, teaching math, technically actuarial science, at UNLV. This is not an intro likely to elicit oohs and ahs. Take the label for what it is.

Just because he's riding herd on a website doesn't make him particularly admirable.

As I said, perspective. My late wife had two doctorates. Shackleford? My friend, Gary, got a perfect score on the math segment of the SATs. Shackleford? My friend, Scott, retired as a full professor who taught probability and statistics in the social sciences. He was a Fulbright scholar and sat on the panel to choose other Fulbright scholars. Shackleford?

I think much of Shackleford's reputation has to do with the lack of quality scholarship and people readily available on gambling forums. I mean, the dude was promoting parlay calculators for sports betting, which is like promoting Oreos to help the morbidly obese lose weight.

Just let the man flail and drown in the puddle of his own idiosyncrasies. Or blow up his car. One or the other -- LOL.

 

I doubt anybody gives enough of a shit to "blow up his car" or otherwise go after him in the real world.

You know, I was going to make some offhand comment about Shackleford probably thinking he's smarter than he is, but my true thought is that he knows his limitations and just luxuriates in the big-fish-small-pond environs of WoV. I mean, these guys are a dime a dozen in the real world. Math boy/geek tries his hand at solving life as a math-based gambler. Yeah, you and five million other Americans plus half a million in Hong Kong and so on.

I remember playing hoops for the Penn State grad/professor math department team. We had a Romanian point guard, a Taiwanese off guard, and a Chinese power forward (the latter two made for an interesting combo) and a couple of Americans. I was first dude off the bench. All of these guys had math PhDs of various kinds. We had some interesting debates regarding certain mathematical aspects of playing basketball. And our second year together, we set a record for fewest points per game allowed in the league. Sometimes the pure math perspective missed the overall forest for the trees when it came to basketball, and it wasn't tough to figure out where they were being led astray. Bottom line: even the folks with multiple math doctorates can get real-world analytic issues wrong because they miss something obvious.

I really don't know why people hold Shackleford in such esteem. He usually does a fine job at what he attempts. And sometimes he doesn't. Like everybody else. And he's something of a horse's ass. Worse than most.

Hard to argue Freddy hasn’t been on to something for years here. The Serbs have to be so proud of their investment.

 

The value of WOV . com and WOO . com included that the Wizard stayed on to create content, including to write reviews of affiliate casinos and games available at those affiliate casinos.

He gets paid a little for his ongoing content too, but of course nothing compared to what he was paid for the site.

And that's why his site was worth more than just the traffic it had at the time and why the other gambling sites aren't worth what his was worth - no other website is directed by a well known "casino games mathematician."

I don't know if they made money off the deal, but I have a few Serbian clients and they basically throw money at me to solve their problems and handle their business, so among the ones I know who are earning they are pretty free and loose with their money. You have to figure that over all they must be doing well with their online casino guides and actual online casinos. Even if WOV isn't making anything for them in terms of advertising links, WOO probably is, and anyway at this point it's the over all operation that matters to them even if some parts of the network aren't delivering as well as others.

 

I would never argue the Serbs didn’t get their monies worth. Anyone who reads their site LCB and its forum shows the degeneracy of online casino customers. It is filled with discussions of bonuses and customer’s praise of sites that they never win on but gets lots of play at. Getting paid isn’t a concern but instead it’s the 300-1000x play they get for their money. And the Serbs are getting their share of every deposit that they link to. You are correct in that everyone understood that Woo was the real value, not the forum.

Naturally they don’t really care the front man is a creep. They aren’t exactly “good” people filled with morals. But anyone who has read the man’s posts over the years and is unbiased understands the guy comes off as a huge pervert and an immature man child. But we all have our own issues to deal with, just some have more than others.

Boz, I think it just comes down to any business (that survives and grows) over time increases in value. You know and realize that yourself with your business (you sold), as do we all. Same applies to good quality investment portfolios (NOT DarkOz's CYDY or pinball machines).

Before pulling the trigger, I doubt the Serbs looked carefully at anyone's personal background, just at what was there as far as content and business reputation. And you might be right that they might be a bunch of degenerates themselves.
