I do that during the game. My software for practice has virtual bets capacity built into the charting telemetry so that you can learn the progress of bets placed at zero value if they won or not. I do the same things while playing live at a casino. I have a column on the left in my hand written charts for an "X" if the bet wins or if the bet loses it is blank on that line. If I place a dot in the lower right corner of that space for each spin then it is a virtual bet that still had a selection but lost or won no money. I also circle my bet selection so that I know where I bet for each spin. Later when I get home I can analyze my actual play and effectiveness. I built this charting system to compliment the method. Virtual betting is a must. It's required in order to succeed. It's shown how it works in the Reading Randomness thread. So yes to your question.
