Alcohol is legal too. So is smack with a prescription in Great Britain. Marijuana happens to be in some states. Taking anything mind altering daily to get loaded is a function of being an addict and nothing more.

You both have been busting on MrV for marijuana use. Did you stop to think he may have a prescription for it. He has shared that he has had some health problems, now in remission, so he may very well be taking prescribed medicine.

And even if that is not the case or dating back prior to that, is MrV's recreational use of marijuana any different than anyone having a few drinks a week as most people do. I have no idea if you (Mdawg) drink. I seem to remember you saying you don't but most adults do, at least occasionally. Singer frequently talks of meeting people at a bar for a drink. He was supposed to me MaxPen at a bar and reneged. It seems like bars and drinking are something he does. I have no idea to what extent, nor care. But like everything else, it is the hypocrisy of giving MrV shit for something he does the equivalent of with alcohol.

And to anyone who wants to argue alcohol vs marijuana, alcohol has known, medical community proven and known risks, everything from increases in heart disease, and various cancer risks to liver disease. To my knowledge there has never been any medical accepted increased risks from marijuana use, with the possible exception of possible increase in lung disease and that isn't about the marijuana but rather just the smoke and toxins being put in the lungs....doesn't matter if it is tobacco or marijuana or something else. AND at the same time, marijuana has potential anti-cancer effects generally accepted by the medical establishment.

I have found that the fairly (not daily) use of cannabis, supplemented with pondering over some life-enhancing points of zen I picked up over the years keeps me sparky.

No harm has befallen me due to these choices: none.

Just some random thoughts on what I've been reading lately in this thread:

A few years back I had this girlfriend. I say girlfriend but she was in her late forties. She had 4 grown boys in the 18 to 25 year range. At the time in Montana you had to have a prescription to legally buy marijuana. All 4 of her big strapping healthy boys had prescriptions for marijuana.

I've read with some interest the debate here about a marijuana habit. So far I've kept my mouth shut but what the hell. It was a long time ago but I was psychologically addicted to marijuana for about ten years. It's a hallucinogenic. I had to have it every day. It was nothing physical just mental. It's a mild psychological addiction but harmful because it makes one lethargic. It was tough but I was able to break free from it and haven't gone back to it for 30 years.

Then there is the unmitigated stupidity of one self described professional sportsbettor here that thinks paying into SS is not an investment. LOL. You can't make this shit up.

 

Must be high tide untreated sewage time.

 

I have a friend that I've known my entire life who lives on Cape Cod and has been a DAILY weed user since his first year of college. I see him maybe every 5 years and I just saw him during our trip back east. I can never take being around him for more than 24 hours because he's lazy, overly laid-back, and the highlight of his day is pulling out the "refer" to "relax". His brain is unquestionably and totally fried. It is a damn shame what it has done to a once active and vibrant person.

I suspect there's a lot of things that professional sports bettor isn't telling us. Like all the tournaments and contests he tanks.

 

Anytime anyone has an even slightly negative thing to say about the drama queen, he's like the spoiled little boy who's mommy just said NO to getting him the latest Barbie doll.

I've seen AQ even try to make it clear that he doesn't dislike him, but kew, needing the attention and relevance of a porn star, deflects everything away to: "You Just Don't Like Me!" and proceeds to produce countless meaningless and repetitious essays telling us why--when NO ONE CARES.

And I must admit, defining Main Street Station's brew pub as "some slum downtown" strongly suggests that you've never been to Main Street Station's brew pub. I guess when you're as smart and worldly as Punk, you can describe places without actually seeing them. I think they call that "remote viewing" in the parapsychology literature.

I’m sure that establishment is the go to place for you and from what you have divulged of your own personal finances, then yes to you it is indeed a “hi klass joint” . Each to their own.

At the end of the day, they go to bed angry and bitter and trying to think of new ways to be nasty and lie and I go to bed, very comfortable with my life, doing exactly what I wanted to do, and living a comfortable life doing so.
