What good do riots ever do other than give others a negative image to act upon.
Does watching the riots on hi def big screen TV, make a 12 year old want to grow up and live in a black neighborhood, or even in a mixed neighborhood, or open a business in a black neighborhood, or hire a black man??? Do the images of black men and women looting en mass give people watching a warm and fuzzy feeling about being around blacks? Living with them, working with them?

Asians were rounded up in the USA, and put in interment camps. Horrible, right? Did they riot? They were called worse than "nigger" and no one would hire them. Yet they went back to their homes, and worked hard, and raised children with an emphasis on education. And those children were successful, didnt commit a large percent of murders, didnt riot, and lived the american dream. The same with immigrant jews, the same with immigrant folks from india...along with china and Japan.

All these folk's parents who didnt fit in with white society, looked different, talked different, had different customs, didnt have the benefit of a USA education,,,, didnt riot as they were mistreated....they worked hard and raised families steeped in the importance of education.
The downside if you want to call it that..is that you dont see many jewish asian, indian.....professional athletes. But putting your eggs in the basket of education is far more statistically favorable for success than putting all your eggs in the hoping for professional sports to take you to to the promised land basket.

There are asian people in this country that are descendants of japanese and other asians that were imprisoned in camps on US soil in the early 1940's.......are they shooting up their community and rioting? Asian americans at that time, denied jobs, treated like crap, called names, ...yet they didnt riot....and the next generations were very successful. They didnt use this episode in US history as a crutch to explain away failure.

But it seems others seem to like to latch on to injustice and use it as a crutch for failure. As a reason not to try.

Injustice is not a cloud that just hangs over the american black community. Open your eyes. There are plenty of other groups that have had it much worse.

There comes a time when you just have to get your shit together, and say fuck crying about the bast...I am going to make my own future by working hard in school, and being a success at something...and when I have kids, I am going to sacrifice and make life better for them then I had it. THATS what all the other successful cultures did. Jews, asian, Indian,...they all said---I am not going to dwell in the past, I am going to make my life as good as I can make it through hard work, and make my childrens life even better by bring children into a 2 parent household and sacrificing and guiding them to success via discipline and education.

the truth is..there is no magic number that makes riots and using an atrocity as a crutch acceptable. People have free will. just check off the box on a college application that you are black and you get special favorable consideration. However you need to get through High School in at least average fashion....even if you get slammed for "acting white". Women have free will and the power not to spread their legs and get pregnant beofre having a stable committed man in their life....THAT has nothing to do with kidnapped blackmen in africa thrown overboard.

Why havent the immigrant jews, asians, american indian folks exploded into violence. Why arent they collectively over 80 percent of violent crime offenders. They had their share of hardship. Why not the rowanda immigrants. Or the syrian immigrants. All I know is that watching images of black people rioting in high def, live....for hours a day.....on 24 hours cable news stations....leaves impactful images about living with and hiring that particular race. It just does. You cant argue that someone watching black riots, goes to sleep and says "i want to live in a neighborhood with more black people" or "I think i will hire more black people" or "I want to open up a business in a neighborhood with alot of black people"..........THATS what rioting reaps for the black community. It did that for them in the late 60;s in the newark riots, it did it for them 20 years ago in the LA RIOTS, and it continues to do it for them in the baltimore riots. New generations keep getting those images...and keep reacting to them.

I am sure my dad hated germans with a passion. But he raised me to be a good citizen, and resepct and get along with others. And thats how most jews were raised by their parents. If not, jews would have generation after generation of enraged youth acting out, crying woe is me.
I didnt know about my fathers situation till I was 10...when I learned about it in school, and my mom told me. Thats how it went in those type of jewish households. The pain and anger was kept inward, as it was more important to sacrifice for the family and not burden children with the angst of the past....even though the past was just a few years ago.
We were taught in Hebrew school about the past, and to never forget about it.....but to live life for the future and strive to make things better for ourselves.
We were never taught to use it as a crutch to bitch and moan about. We were taught to overcome antisemitism with education and family values...which included sacrifice for our children.

LarryS, am I missing something with your black/white attacker stats? If whites outnumber blacks by a 6 to 1 ratio in this country, which is the current number, and attacks are random, then shouldn't blacks attack whites and whites attack blacks in pretty much the numbers you listed?


If white targets outnumber black targets by slightly less than a six to one margin, then blacks should be targeting whites almost six times as often as whites target blacks.

My stepfather, Jim Wolfe, passed away in Nov 2014, 89 years old. He was an old War World II guy. Before he died I did some genealogy work on him.
