Cats like to make the scene with a lotta harumph, and bluster goin on about how the baccarats is the money game and the 50-50 coins flip proposition; so if their assertion is correct it shouldn't matter if you bet p or b after the pppp pop, hey hey.

    Hey Soxfan

Greetings to the Tundra from the Down Under.

A while back you were enthusiastic about the Star Progression. ( I use it myself). You seem to have moved on to flat betting. (Banker Only). I’d be keen to know your current thoughts on the subject if you can spare the time.

I know the Star has big drawdowns but as you noted if you have the balls, it can be very profitable.

Hope that bulldog continues to be fed.

I concur, it does work as I've played a variation of it over a decade ago, nice start with 13 winning sessions and overall profit of $42k after 5 months. including one unforgettable session of turning $500 into $16k, plus the ugly moment of betting the wrong side and losing close on $8k for one session, plus a couple of $10k losing sessions.

Which is why I applied the brakes after 3 losses, no point letting one single odd-ball streak take you to the cleaners.

    Died of starvation

My method of play is to use Avant Dernier. As you will know the Star requires 2 consecutive wins to give you a return.

Avant Dernier is certainly NOT infallible. However….it will normally give you the 2 in a row you need. This will come with ping pong or a streak. I am under NO illusions that it won’t go south with the terrible twos.

Any comments from the brains trust (aka Forum Members) would be welcomed.

I don’t -lay Banker only. My method of play is Avant Dernier.

This will , more times than not, throw up the 2 wins in a row needed for success with the Star progression.

I am under NO illusions that it can’t go south quickly. The terrible twos are the nemesis. Which is where the balls come in.

Anyway, any comments from the brains trust that make up this forum are more than welcome.

Ironic that you seek a double win but your nemesis is a string of double wins.

I will try to test this for you on my data later to see what strategy produces the most double wins.

Thanks for that Fathead. I would be really appreciative of that when you have time.

It's not so much the frequency of the double wins, rather the loss strings, otherwise OLD or FLD would have sufficed.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of star. I figure any parlay/double win/star style will allow you to win well and regular if ya bet bankers only. But after my extensive testings I am of the opinion that flat bet bankers is the best way to go. And yeah, the bulldog is on the diet of sirloin tips steaks, hey hey.

    Thanks for your reply Soxfan.

The draw down in adverse circumstances using flat betting is much easier to take than when using STAR, that’s for sure

Will give some thought to your Banker ONLY approach.

Hope he appreciates the sirloin !

Okay Leander, here are the result totals for the six most common bet selections, ranked in order of Most Double Wins (4062 shoes). I also included maximum losses in a row for each.

    73659 / -14 Banker Only
    71583 / -16 Follow Last Decision
    71192 / -15 Opposite Decision Before Last
    71110 / -16 Follow Decision Before Last
    70883 / -15 Opposite Last Decision
    69198 / -16 Player Only

The bet selection you are currently using came in at #4. Actually betting for a string of double wins (two's) came in at #3. Hope this helps.

What are the "run" figures before achieving a double win?

When I tested this this years ago, I saw runs of 20 decisions before snaring WW

Well Fathead….you took the wind out of my sails with your findings.

Thanks so much for your time and effort.

So it’s back to the drawing board for me.

I have never seen such a long run as you mentioned Junket King. But I’m sure it’s not impossible. I normally stop after 4 LIA and wait for my chosen pattern to reappear.
