Apparently it's been brewing for awhile, and with the election of Trump and his implementation of draconian executive orders a petition for California to secede from the Union will be on the ballot, in 2018, apparently.

I always thought that California would slip off into the Pacific Ocean from the weight of its own taxation. I would love to see Southern California split with Northern California to form the 51st State of Jefferson. Then Southern Oregon could split off from Northern Oregon to combine with the State of Jefferson. Those counties in the free zone areas already want it. Just imagine the blood sucking liberal cities letting some of their unrepresented tax base going free. Fat chance of that. California is too dependent on federal aid to risk departure from the "hind tit." They need the rest of the country to feed their victim class culture. I hope they do it though. They will become Greece faster than you can say "Jack Rabbit Slims." Imagine the California dollar. They could open up their border to the south and we could build a big fence at the base of the Sierras. Of course we would yank all the strategic manufacturing infrastructure as soon as they do it.
