Didn't you mean irrelevantly derailing threads? Because if the thread were irrelevant, who would give a shit?

    Yes.
An account other than the original one created by the same person. We don't give members the benefit of the doubt if there are two account connecting from the same IP and will automatically assume any other accounts with the same IP addresses are sock puppets of the first account and will then merge them into the original account. As long as members publicly confess to having sock puppets, they can keep participating under their original (and merged) account.

So you are basically, placing a limitation of 1 account per household. As you well know, I live with 3 other people, all involved with AP/gambling. So if one of these other members of my household, say my brother, or my partner, were to have a desire or interest in participating here, and registered an account, it would immediately be incorrectly determined that they were a sock puppet? For the record this scenario will not be occurring as all members of my household think I am crazy for spending so much of my free time to these sites. But it could happen or maybe the spouse of a member took an interest, lets say Mrs LarryS, a slot player, wanted to create an account and participate?? Just seems like you haven't even considered this possibility.

GF is probably not alone in this assumption. Other sites, Like WoV, make the same assumption....perhaps have closed accounts from a second member of a household, just assuming that a second or third member of the same household, who may share or use each others computers, couldn't possibly have interest in the same subject matter.

so whats your solution short of getting video proof every time a second or third person in a household used their screen name from the same IP.

So either the rare case of 2 people in the same household gets dis-allowed.....or its open season for anyone and everyone to have multiple screen names just saying that they are a realtive or spouse of the original member.

I don't have a solution, Larry. Nor do I suspect it has been a widespread problem. I am just saying that it doesn't seem that administrators on this site, or others have even considered this possibility.

While my case, of living with 3 other people who frequent casinos almost daily is no doubt unusual, is it that far-fetched for a couple members of the same household, like a husband and wife, to share the same interest in an activity, especially something like gambling?

Why do you keep referring to Howmanys offer as a wager? Sounds more like an illegal offer to me. Perhaps it started off as a wager (I don't remember). It would be considered sexual harassment by most people.

I'm not going to do your job and scour the roulette forums and look for guys like gizmotron2 posts where has offered his system for sell. I know he offered to me. I remember him telling people it went from $200 down to the price of a book or something like that. He also tells people the can go to roullett.cc(?) or some other forum to discuss the details of his classes and system. Anyone with PM privilege can start a conversation with a noob. The scamming doesn't have to take place right here in the open or via PM, but its a great place to use if you want to lure people to other sites use email etc.
    Really?

My GF made an account here, I would assume it was on the same IP or dam close. You can delete it, she doesn't care, she only made it so I could get PM permission.

If someone uses DIAL UP connections from different devices, can you detect that as being the same person? It was to my understanding that a dial up gave you a different IP each time(at least if you waited a bit or did some IP config renew release). Back when internet bonuses were a thing I would just reformat and rename my computers(I didn't know if that was needed, but I did it just to be sure) re log on to AOL or use different free dial up services. I kept my dial up just for that reason for years after cable internet. Not one time did anyone notice and I did hundreds of online bonuses. When I went to cable only I requested and paid for a dynamic IP connection and I could change it anytime I wanted to.

I'm not even sure if any company still offers dial up, but I assume that some BFE places still do.

I have zero interest in tricking forums however I am very interested in knowing how to hide from online casinos with the least amount of effort.

Of course they considered this . the admin has said so in the past.
If you think this is such a unique question that you just thought of dont flatter yourself.
The admin said in the past that losing a handful of real posters that are a second real person in the household is a smallprice to pay to keep the board from being over run with socks

I dont think the admin ever bragged that he has found a way to totally eliminate socks.
He just says he is doing what he can to limit them so that they are not a significant population on the site.

Of course we've considered this possibility, but we've been running forum communities for over 10 years, and the amount of times we've seen legitimate cases of this can be counted with one hand, so we would prefer to lose out on the tiny, minute percentage of members that connect from the same household than to open up a loophole that anyone could easily abuse. Furthermore, in the very few cases where we've seen this happen legitimately, those folks were actually open and upfront about it and mentioned it when they introduced themselves to the community so that there would be no doubt since they had nothing to hide. Not like in this case, where they only mentioned they lived together after they were caught, and then their story did not add up at all. Again, we've been doing this a very long time, and we've seen every trick, excuse, and tactic in the book. That's not to say we would never consider allowing members from the same household to have separate accounts if they were upfront and asked for our permission beforehand and were transparent about it with the community. We would consider handling those very rare scenarios on a case-by-case basis and would probably use a disclaimer on their signatures so that the community would be aware of the connection between those members every time they posted. However, we have yet to get to that bridge on this site, so we'll cross it when/if we get to it. Until then, if we catch members that are clearly connecting from the same place, we will assume one of them is a sock puppet and act accordingly.

HowMany called it a "wager", that's why were refer to it as such.

And yet that's exactly what you've been doing these past couple of days and have come short because there are virtually no cases of this happening here. That's why you returned empty handed, not because there are a lot of examples and you simply couldn't be bothered to go looking for them as your post suggests.

Then you should have reported it to us the moment you saw it so that we could have dealt with it instead of keeping quite about it and using it as the only ammunition/example you have several months later. Every post has a report link at the bottom and it takes literally 5 seconds to report a post.

If that's the case, then that also wouldn't be allowed as he would be promoting a product or service. Again, you should have reported this and we would have edited out the part against our rules and warned the offending member. Yet that is the only example you can mention out of over 28,000 posts, and even then, you couldn't find it. This proves our point that it is incredibly difficult to scam someone on this site and that's why finding examples of it is so difficult.

Now, you have no problem crying wolf about others being sock puppets and writing long posts about it, but when it comes to reporting a potential scammer by making 2 clicks in 5 seconds, you don't seem to be interested and prefer to save it as ammunition for later even though you end up making our point for us. We consider that contradictory behavior. We don't expect you to scour the forums months later to look for posts that break our rules, but if you are so concerned about your fellow members that you are quick to accuse others of being sock puppets based solely on hearsay, then we would at the very least expect you to make just 2 clicks in 5 seconds to report potential scammers trying to peddles their wares the moment you see it so that we can take care of it. Particularly since it's such a rare occurrence here that you can't even link to that example or come up with other ones.

There are literally only 15 members (including you and us) out of over 1,500 that have unlocked the PM feature. That's how difficult it is to unlock. So again, as mentioned previously, the amount of effort it takes to unlock the PM feature versus how quickly a member violating our rules via PM would either lose those privileges or have their account banned ensures there is simply no ROI for scammers here. It takes a lot of time and effort to unlock the PM feature but only 1 report of a rule-breaking PM to end the scammers run. That's why you're having such difficulty finding examples of members trying to scam other members here.

It is actually against our rules to post any contact information here, so no, this is not a "great place" to lure people to other sites or via e-mail which is why you could not find a single example here. That's not to say there isn't a few since some (such as the incident you mentioned) could have gone unreported and flown under the radar, but we would be surprised if it was more than a handful out of over 28,000 posts. That's a tiny and almost negligible percentage, yet you make it sound like our site is a nirvana for scammers and spammers even though you have have failed to link to a single example, let alone explain just how a scammer could run rampant here and easily scam our users. You won't be able to explain that because it's simply not true, and that's by design, not coincidence or luck.

    What's her username?

The IP would change, yes, but that is all that would change. There are several other factors that would not change, but we obviously won't mention what those are as we don't want to make it easier for perpetrators. Like we said, we know what we're doing, so we won't say anything more regarding our detection methods for obvious reasons, but we hope this calms your concerns regarding sock puppets here.

Keep in mind that sock puppets are only disruptive when they participate and the only purpose of a sock puppet is to support a member's original account/position/agenda in one way or another. That tends to leave a pattern of behavior and participation that is typically the first thing to raise our suspicion (or that of our members) to make us manually look into an account that may not have been caught yet by our automated detection tools. It is when we delve into those potential sock puppet account that the technical patterns emerge and become very obvious if they are indeed a sock puppet.

So there could very well be dormant sock puppets on here right now, but we aren't going to manually investigate every member because as long as they are dormant, they have zero impact on the community.

Lastly, we force violators of our no multiple accounts rule to name and shame themselves or be banned forever, so there is a strong deterrent not to have sock puppets on this site. This is especially true when you consider the fact that the more accounts one creates on this site, the more fingerprints they leave to make future detection of their sock puppets even easier. Case in point.

Those two scenarios are not comparable because in a Forum, the behavior of multiple accounts is public and generally leaves obvious and permanent traces. Furthermore, since those traces are public, any other member can police them and suspect and report potential sock puppets for the Admins to manually look into. Creating sock puppets at an online casino does not leave those same public, obvious, and permanent traces, so they tend to rely more on automated detection methods which are easier to fool than a human. Don't forget that it only takes one slip up for us to catch even the most careful of sock puppets, and no one is perfect 100% of the time. They may even fool us for a little while until they slip up, and then they're busted. Everyone eventually slips up, and all it takes is a single slip up. Plus, the longer they've had the sock puppet for, the bigger the shame when they have to publicly confess, or the bigger the loss when their main account (and sock puppets) are banned if they choose not to confess.

Correct. When it comes to running sites, it's not about total elimination of a problem (which is impossible), but about maximum minimization.

Nathan over at wov IS such a fucking naive dunce.

He is still willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and takes her seriously(aimee)

Aimee is supposedly 21, but she posts like a 14 year old. She is an adult using OMG and Imma, and Loooove.Soooooo.
She posts an avatar of her crotch. He talks about dancing and bikinis, and drinking till her memory is shot, snapper, blowfish, massages, bubble baths with candles, and even offers to lay on the beach with a female wov member without even knowing her.

And oh yeah....SHE she will be coming to vegas in 5 months...so the perves like nathan have 5 months to fall over themselves.

What adult would want to deal with a "woman" that talks like a 14 year old....with OMG. Imma..........sooooo cool....... Are they THAT sexually starved that they would chase a mirage in hopes that the mirage turns real by some sort of magic

Would love to see someone like that get past a job interview. But I dont think she is real...just a steriotype of what someone thinks would gain interest of the pervs at wov. She/he has them pegged .

a crotch shot and a bunch of sexual innuendo goes a long way.//along with complimenting enough posters to keep them hard.

and the promise of the visit to vegas is the mechanical rabbit at the dogtrack of pervs set to run after it

    heeeeeerrrrrre commmmmmmmmes Rusty

Bob Dancer started a thread on WOV saying that Romes will be a guest on his show and asking for questions for him to be asked. Romes is a blackjack player.

Right away. djatc hijacks the thread with his stupid questions...among them "Why do kids love cinnamon toast crunch"? No warning. No suspension for this repeat offender.

Then it happened. Someone suggested Aimee be on the show. Yes, that Aimee. Seeing the name Aimee woke up manboy who responded: I'll lay 11 to 10 she wouldn't beat the ratings for Cocktail Doll. Dancer then has to explain to manbot that there ins not a way to measure the ratings of different shows....manboy just used it as an excuse to mention a 5 year old interview that apparently still excites him.

Some background: Manboy used to co host Gambling With An Edge with Bob Dancer. He talked a reluctant Dancer into having a disgusting woman on who called herself Cocktail Doll for the Feb 16, 2012 show. Anyone interested can search WOV for a thread called: "Feb 16 Show With Dolly Wong".

Back to the current WOV thread: "Romes To Be Guest on GWAE. Dancer responds to manboy's post: "Dolly Wong, the webmaster of cocktaildoll.com is/was a friend of Shack's. Then he says: "Shack was looking forward to going out for a drink with Dolly afterward to catch up"."Mike is married and I didn't think it would turn out to be more than a drink".

He goes on to say that Wong's boyfriend showed up with her throwing a monkey wrench into manboy's carefully laid plans. "It was a bit distracting to me---and I suspect a little disheartening to Mike because he realized that his plans for taking Dolly out for a drink afterwards weren't going to be realized" Really? His "plans". Sounds like premeditation would be a better word. The lengths that this guy will go to get near women.

Wov member and public restroom aficionado, onenickelmiracle, is on the Aimee investigation and it looks like he may have broken the case. You may remember this guy with the feces fetish. The guy who said he went into a gas station restroom, looked in the toilet and saw "a big poop wider than a coke can".

Here's what Mr Miracle's fine detective work has yielded regarding Aimee: "It's pretty obvious it's one of the banned stooges trying to fill their tabloid".

    Hey Moe....Hey Larry.....Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...

Number of trips to Las Vegas?
    Favorite hotel?
Favorite game to gamble on? You can pick 2 if you must.
And these 2 questions you dont have to answer because the are sorta personal but i want to ask you anyways.......what state do you live in? How old are you?
There are some more questions but im afraid to ask OMG so I will stop with these ones.
I am looking forward to reviewed your answers. Thanks alot. Aimee.

Above is a prime example that its either a dude or a female playing a game(to what end...who knows)...and specifically aimed at StifFLEA, AND NAIVE NATHAN.....her new buddies

Look at the forced placement of 'OMG"....its like "aimee" had to fulfull an "omg " quota. It just doesnt belong there unless someone just wanted to keep playing the airhead role. Not even a real airhead would use it in that context.

Its funny she offered to lay on the beach with a 56 year old woman(as per the whales profile).......and if she didnt look at the profile...she offered to lay on the beach with someone of an undetermined age.

questions obviously meant to gauge the financial status of the 2 men. Just tell her you stay at the Wynn ,Play high stakes Baccarat, you ,live in a spacious condo overlooking central park. and that you always let your girlfriend hold your wallet when you go out because you tend to get wasted.
